Wind Energy

wind energy?

Wind energy is a form of renewable energy generated by harnessing the power of wind to produce electricity.
It is derived from the kinetic energy of the wind and converted into electrical energy using wind turbines.

Types of Wind Energy.

Wind energy generation comprises two types based on its location: Onshore wind energy production, situated on land, and offshore wind energy, utilizing turbines installed at sea to generate power.

Onshore Wind Energy

While driving, it's commonplace to observe structures resembling windmills, known as wind turbines, which harness the wind's force to generate electrical energy. Furthermore, wind farms consist of clusters of high-capacity wind turbines linked to the power grid, typically situated in areas abundant in wind, such as expansive plains or coastal regions.

Within the domain of onshore wind energy, it's essential to note micro-wind energy, typically designated for wind turbines generating less than 100 KW of power. These smaller-scale structures are commonly utilized in remote areas, distant from the power grid, like rural residences, nature reserves, or mountain shelters. Such installations often integrate solar energy, resulting in wind-solar hybrid systems.

Offshore Wind Energy

Offshore wind energy generation follows a similar process to onshore energy production, utilizing wind turbines to capture wind power for electricity generation. However, the key distinction lies in the location—offshore wind energy entails installing turbines amidst the ocean to capitalize on the robust offshore winds.

Out in the ocean, the wind remains continuous and consistently stronger. Consequently, offshore wind power surpasses onshore wind energy in productivity due to the heightened and forceful impact of wind on the turbine blades.
